Day 1 Walthamstow to Hackney Wick

We started off two miles from the ring, so enjoyed a pleasent walk through Walthamstow to Coppermill Lane. We passed Thames Water Walthamstow reservoirs and water treatment plant, and took some photos of the filter beds and old Copper Mill.

We then walked under a very low railway bridge and across to Springfield park in Stoke Newington by the marina, then followed the canal along past Clapton and towards the Lea Bridge Road, where we saw some very nice looking apartments by the Ice Rink that require further invesitagion.

On the other side of the road, we continued to follow the canal towards the Olympic park in Stratford. Our journey was cut short because of the Olympic site, so we took the train from Hackney Wick to Stratford where we had lunch in the King Edward VII.

In terms of the ring we did most of section 13, except for a not that intersting part through Stoke Newington
